  • Wootton Wawen Pre-School operates within Wootton Wawen Village Hall on Alcester Road. The Hall is a modern building and provides a very light, warm, secure and clean setting 
  • We have a cloak room area, clean modern toilets and a large kitchen. The main hall is used for group and play activities, which has ample space for the children to play safely
  • We have snack-time area where the children enjoy a drink and some fruit, or an alternative healthy snack.
  • An outside fenced grassed play area provides a safe soft outdoor area which is popular with the children
  • We have a wide range of equipment and toys

Weekly Activities

We participate in a varied range of activities each week, such as: 

  • Cooking / baking
  • Rhythm & music
  • Arts & crafts
  • PE
  • Dressing up
  • Occasional outings & church visits 

The Pre-School also has a close relationship with Wootton Wawen C of E Primary school, and weekly visits are made to help to prepare children for the 'big' school environment. The children are able to benefit from the use of the school hall and playground for a variety of activities.

Key Person 

Staff are dedicated to providing the best care to each child at Pre-School. The children are allocated a main key person to help observe, support and look after them.

Each key person : 

  • Is responsible for working with a small number of children, attending to their physical, emotional and educational needs.
  • Develops a relationship with the child's parents to promote the child's development through ongoing communication.
  • Is responsible for keeping the child's written and photographic records to demonstrate their achievements, which are available for parents to see and discuss.

A second key person is also allocated to your child in the event of staff illness or study days. 

Staff / Committee

Staff: We currently employ four staff, three of whom hold early years qualifications. The team is led by our Manager, Patricia Baker who has over 25 years childcare experience and has managed the setting since 2003 and has attained the following proffesional qualifications :

  • Nursery Nurse Examination Board (NNEB)
  • Royal Society for the Promotion of Health - Nursery Nurses Diploma (RSH)
  • Norland Diploma
  • Early Years Foundation Degree (Merit)

An administrative assistant provides additional support along with parent volunteers. All are dedicated to providing the best possible care and education to each and every child who joins Pre-School.

Committee: Pre-School is an unincorporated body registered with the Charity Commission. It is run by a management committee of parents elected at its autumn annual general meeting, who oversee the management and smooth running of the setting. The Pre-School is a member of the Pre-School Learning Alliance which actively promotes parental involvement and is a source of help and support to parent volunteers of the Pre-School.
